Namibia Classic takes you on your self-drive tour to the country's most beautiful highlights such as the red dunes of the Kalahari, the world famous dunes at Sossusvlei, Dead Vlei, Sesriem Canyon, Swakopmund, Vingerklip, Etosha National Park, Waterberg and Namibia's capital city, Windhoek. We make sure you travel in a comfortable and safe 4x4 vehicle and provide you with a detailed itinerary including driving directions and GPS coordinates of your accommodations.

Day 1 - Welcome to Namibia

On your arrival day at Hosea Kutako International Airport near Windhoek, you will pick-up your rental car, then drive to The Elegant Guesthouse, which is located in a lovely neighborhood in Windhoek. After checking in you can explore the city to get a taste of the capital of Namibia.

Day 2 and day 3 - Waterberg Pleateau National Park

​

You explore the Waterberg Plateau Park, a nature reserve near Otjiwarongo. Hiking trails will take you to the most spectacular viewpoints and provide the opportunity to study fauna and flora. Nestled on a rock terrace high up on the slope of the Waterberg, the chalets of the Waterberg Plateau Lodge afford grand vistas of the endless Kalahari bush savannah.

Day 4 and day 5 - Etosha National Park

​

You continue towards the Etosha National Park, another highlight during your travels in Namibia. Your accommodation is perfectly situated only a few kilometers outside of the park and you have ample opportunity to drive into Etosha National Park and watch different antelope species, giraffe as well as elephant and with some luck even lion, hyena, leopard and rhino. You stay at Toshari Lodge where the Namibian wilderness meets unbridled luxury.

Day 6 and day 7 - The famous Vingerklip and Damaraland

​

Continue to the next place on your "Buket List": one of the oldest landscape formations in Namibia. Here you will also see the spectacular Vingerklip (Finger Rock), a 35 meter high conglomerate rock formation. Vingerklip Lodge nestles in a valley and offers a prime location to visit Vingerklip, which stands proudly above the Ugab terraces. The lodge is also an excellent stop over to explore other attractions of Damaraland.

Day 8 - The beautiful Erongo Region

​

On your route from Vingerklip Lodge to Ai-Aiba Lodge you discover the beauty of the Erongo Mountains - a volcanic massif.  Marvel at the giant rocks scattered throughout this impressive mountain range. In the late afternoon you can join a game drive, which shows the unique landscape of the Ai-Aiba Lodge and includes a visit to ancient rock paintings. The drive culminates in a sundowner among the towering granite boulders.

Day 9 and day 10 - Coastal Town Swakopmund

After a hearty breakfast, you'll drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund. You will spend two relaxing days at the welcoming Hotel a la Mer. The city offers great shopping and many adventure activities such as boat trips, quad biking in the dunes, scenic flights, skydiving and much more. In the evening you can dine in one of the excellent restaurants in the city, which serves the famous Namibian oysters and superb seafood and fish.

Day 11 and day 12 - The world famous Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei

​

Today’s journey takes you through the Gaub- and Kuiseb Canyon to Sossuslvei. During this journey you will experience once again the beauty of the breathtaking vistas of this country. Early the next day at you will watch the world renowned dunes of Sossusvlei light up in the first rays of the rising sun. You then continue to Dead Vlei with its desiccated trees, more than 800 years old, a sight to quicken the heartbeat of any photographer. To conclude this spectacular outing you pay a visit to the Sesriem Canyon, carved out by forces of erosion over a long period of time.

Day 13 - The red Kalahari Desert 

After breakfast you will travel towards the red sands of the Kalahari Desert. This desert is the largest interconnected sandy plain extending over more than nine countries! Today’s destination is the stylish Kalahari Anib Lodge, which is nestled in a lush green oasis under high palm trees, set amidst the red dunes of the Kalahari Desert. In the afternoon you can participate in a sundowner drive to explore the Gondwana Kalahari Park on the sunset drive and celebrate life atop a red Kalahari dune.

Day 14 - Back to Windhoek

​

Today you return to your point of departure – Windhoek – where you spend the last night at Voigtland Guestfarm. It is delightfully different, combining an atmosphere of old world charm with a unique modern style. Look out for the giraffes near to the guesthouse showing off a special African flair.

Day 15 - Depature Day
